Intermediate Course 1: Why Philosophy? Russell versus Rand

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Part 1 of  the Thursday, June 19, Objectivist Education Program Intermediate Course

Objectivism and mainstream philosophy have sharply contrasting visions of philosophy and its importance. Using Ayn Rand’s “Philosophy: Who Needs It” (http://www.tracyfineart.com/usmc/philosophy_who_needs_it.htm) and Bertrand Russell’s “The Value of Philosophy” (http://skepdic.com/russell.html), this session explores how these views of philosophy differ on the content, methodology, and purpose of philosophy.
